School is fully equipped in providing services to the students with the range of needs, including Visual Impairment, Hearing Impairment/ Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder’s (ASD), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Down Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder’s (ADHD), Communication Difficulties Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties, Specific Learning Difficulties and Mild / Controlled Epilepsy
With our focus on the three areas of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience, LGES The Specialist School aims to develop a sense of community where children, young people and adults respect and support one another to create an environment which allows everyone to flourish. We encouraged our students to share their views and take responsibility for their actions, staff are keen to listen and adapt to support young people in their social development. Everyone is helped to understand their role and their impact on others and encouraged to contribute to the collective improvements we want to make every day.
LGISE's building is truly need-based infrastructure with state-of-the-art design. The entrance and exit have been designed to minimize traffic's adverse environmental and social impact. The principles of LGISE focus on eliminating barriers and maximizing learning beyond required access to provide support to all learners. While it is critical for additional needs students, ensuring great classroom acoustics, easy connections to outdoor spaces, and straightforward wayfinding benefits everyone. Classrooms for students with autism spectrum disorder are equipped with specialized workstations to increase their functionality and independent working abilities. Special textured tiles in the Visual impairment wing are there to ensure a safe commute inside the building. Not only classrooms, but therapeutic units too have been specially designed according to the student's needs; in the speech therapy department, soundproof rooms are being built to ensure maximum utilization of time and therapy resources.
